I was convicted of a felony and it came back on my post-offer employment check. Anybody have any ideas what I can say, do or documents I can provide to my future(?) employer to dispute this or convince them it was a mistake?

I am trying to get a job at a hospital for a patient care tech and I have prior experience about 5-6 years ago in another state at another hospital. I think that HR is having a hard time getting verifying. I do have proof though since as tax forms. If they cannot find anything will i just be out of a job? Anyone that works for HR in a hospital. Thanks!!

What do they look for and to what degree?

I worked for a bank as a consultant through a staffing agency two years ago. Obviously the bank’s HR does not have my record as an employee, so how would the background check work if I put that experience on my resume? Would a confirmation from the staffing agency be enough?

Do they just confirm whether a person was employed where they said they were? Or do they check if the person was ever fired, suspended and so on?

Ive made my share of mistakes but they were a long time ago. I applied to the police dept. I passed the polygraph but still didnt get the job because of my background. Now I am applying to the fire dept. Can they see the information that I admitted to the police or is the info I admitted to the police kept private. There were no arrests or anything too serious, just enough that might prevent me from getting the job.

There may not be a typical but I wanted to ask anyway. I have nothing to hide. No felonies, or anything. I just am the kind of guy who worries about these type of things.

It has been 2 weeks since I submitted my onlilne application for a background check. Still has not gone through. Does anybody have experience with international background&employment&education check?

Well I had a interview on Wed for a perm job that I been working as a Temp.But how long is the employment and high school background checks.Because I explained to them my high has closed and we was sent a letter say the school has closed but if anyone needs to verify any information pls contact Mrs.=== @ do u think thye will use the number all my other jobs have and I worked at nothing but big name company’s.PLS HELP
